Weatherstrip
Automotive and industrial weatherstrip and sealing strips that block draughts, water, dust and noise.
Weatherstrip is a flexible rubber strip fitted to the edge of a moving or fixed panel to seal against draughts, water, dust and noise. Many designs use a rigid clip or carrier with a soft sponge bulb so the strip grips an edge and compresses gently against the mating surface. It is widely used on vehicle doors, cabins and industrial enclosures.
Weatherstrip and sealing strips
A weatherstrip works by compressing a soft sealing bulb against a closing surface while a firmer base holds it in place. The result is a quiet, dust-tight and water-resistant joint that also dampens vibration between panels.
- Edge-grip (clip-on) profiles with metal or rigid-rubber carrier
- Sponge bulb seal co-extruded with a solid base
- EPDM compound for long-term weather and ozone resistance
Applications include vehicle doors and tailgates, machine cabins, container and locker doors, and any panel edge that needs a clean, lasting weather seal.
Frequently asked questions
A rigid carrier, often with an internal metal clip, grips the panel edge by friction, so the strip can be pushed on by hand without adhesive or fasteners.
Yes. The soft compressed bulb closes air paths and cushions panel contact, which lowers wind noise and rattle in addition to keeping water and dust out.
EPDM weatherstrip typically performs from about -40 °C to +120 °C and stays elastic through repeated freeze and heat cycles without cracking.
